PUKA KAI STRANDS™
PUKA KAI STRANDS™
Puka Shells are gifted as a symbol of good fortune in Hawaiian tradition. Authentic Hawaiian Puka Shells are the tops of cone shells that the ocean has broken down and tumbled smooth in surf, sand, and rock, leaving only the perfect spiral top with a hole or "puka." It takes decades or more for the ocean to transform a full cone shell into the rare and beautiful puka shell - truly amazing!
We've added Puka Shells to our adjustable Kai Strand™ Necklaces, available on waterproof cords in coffee, mocha, or bronze with your choice of silver or gold metal detail. These versatile pieces can be worn as any-length adjustable necklaces to 30", and as a choker or bolo style, with beautiful back strands. They can also be worn as a bracelet or anklet, although they fit best as a neck piece (shown with sea glass as bracelet + anklet).
Our Puka Shells are hand-collected from the beaches of Oahu's North Shore. Each necklace is one-of-a-kind as no two pukas are alike!
Choose your metal detail from the drop down menu, then select cord color after adding to cart. Coffee cord is the darkest brown, mocha cord is a soft brown/grey, and bronze cord is a tannish gold.
ADD a SEA CHARM to your Kai Strand here (be sure to add note to seller that you want to "add" the charm to the kai strand!)
Each piece is handmade with the Spirit of Aloha and beautifully packaged in sea-themed linen bags. Ships within one week.
All of our driftwood, shells, and coral are personally hand-collected on the beaches of Oahu. All shells and coral are found beached and empty, never taken from their natural environment.
